Arts and Crafts

For a number of years Don and Jude Charbonneau have attended craft shows across Ontario. Although they still attend a few of the smaller fall shows they are now making their handmade crafts available on this website.
Don is a muti - media artist and his songs, poems, art and crafts are inspired by the land he loves, lives and works on. We will be adding more of his work on this page.

We are now building more of our small "Funktional" art cabinets and adding more of Don's Lake Superior inspired art on the cabinet doors. Please come back and visit. September 10 2008/

Lake Superior Sand Candles

These Lake Superior Sand Candles are handmade by Wawa artisan Don Charbonneau and are inspired by the beautiful coastline of Lake Superior.
Each candle has it’s own unique sand imprint of Misseshpeshew and a signed hand painted card with a fragment of one of Don’s Lake Superior - inspired song or poem.
These Lake Superior creations are the perfect gift to give to someone who has experienced and appreciates the beauty of Lake Superior.

Lake Superior Sand Candles

Click to zoom	Carved Cattails in Sand C$30.00 Cattails series size 7in. x 3 in. The cattails are handcarved and a hot wax(crayon) is dripped into the cavity and gently scraped and rubbed. This candle comes with a signed hand painted card. The candle colour is yellow and is scented with our fragance called "Superior Wind". Please note that this candle is made upon request. Click to zoom	Large floater bowl C$25.00 This bowl is made with a mixture of wax and Lake Superior Sand. This creation celebrates Lake Superior Native Culture and History. (An unfired clay pot was filled with water and large heated stones were placed in the pot to cook the family meal.) This large floater bowl comes with 3 flower shaped floating candles.
