Lyrics
A Guide’s Tale
( all words and music by Don Charbonneau)

My campfire is burning bright
there’s a chill out on the edge
out on the edge
hear that loon calling from a distant land.

I’m seventeen miles from nowhere
I’m camped out here on this holy land
I’m seventeen miles from nowhere
I’m camped out here on this holy land.

This land is my mother
and this land is my Manitou.
This land is my mother
and this land is my Manitou.

There‘s a man standing on the shoreline
and he’s pointing to the northern lights
the northern lights
There’s a magic here tonight
There’s a power moving on the land
on the land.

I’m seventeen miles from nowhere
I’m camped out here on this holy land.
I’m seventeen miles from nowhere
I’m camped out here on this holy land.
This land is my mother
and this land is my Manitou
This land is my mother
and this land is my Manitou
my Manitou.
